XVII Vis East Moot

The 17th edition of the Vis Moot in Hong Kong will take place between the 22nd and the 29th of March, 2020.

This year's problem will use the 2014 LCIA Rules, and will verse on many interesting points of law, amongst which:

- The validity of the Arbitration Agreement;
- A request for an order ofexclusion of an expert; 
- Nonconformity under Article 35 of the CISG; and
- The obligations of delivery of replacement goods under the CISG.

IBA Arbitration Day 2020

The 23rd Annual IBA Arbitration Day will take place on 12-13 March 2020 at the Ciragan Palace Kempinski in Istanbul, Turkey.

Under the theme of Innovation 360: new and novel ideas for the practice of arbitration – critically tested the 2020 Arbitration Day will present a series of panels, with each panel presenting one new idea that challenges a key aspect of the way in which international arbitration is presently practiced.

11th Columbia Arbitration Day

The eleventh edition of Columbia Arbitration Day (CAD) will take place on March 6, 2020 at Columbia Law School. CAD brings together scholars, practitioners, arbitrators, judges, and students for an annual discussion about the challenges that drive the international arbitration community. 

Focusing on what makes international arbitration a unique field for legal innovation, this year's conference theme is "Breaking New Ground in International Arbitration". Prominent speakers from all over the world will come together to discuss cutting-edge topics in the field (including arbitration under “One Belt One Road”, technology in arbitration, ethical issues faced by counsel in proceedings, arbitration as a forum for human rights & environmental disputes and arbitrator diversity).

The David D. Caron Praelium: The Best of Arbitral Advocacy

Sponsored by The Center for International Commercial & Investment Arbitration at Columbia Law School, The Dickson Poon School of Law at King's College London, and Three Crowns, the David D. Caron Praelium was first introduced in 2015, an annual celebration of advocacy, with two leading international advocates deploying their oratorical and advocacy skills in the service of important current legal issues before a distinguished three-member tribunal. 

This year, in commemoration of its inaugural session in the U.S., the Praelium will take place on the evening before the annual Columbia Arbitration Day.  The Praelium will take place on Thursday, 5 March 2020 at 6:00pm at the Metropolitan Club (1 East 60th St) in New York City.

The distinguished tribunal will comprise Jean Kalicki (Arbitration Chambers), Professor George A. Bermann (Columbia Law School), and The Honorable Charles N. Brower (20 Essex Street).

The Technology and Construction Solicitors' Association (TeCSA), together with CMS Cameron McKenna Nabarro Olswang LLP, will be hosting their Ask the Arbitrator Forum event on 4 March 2020 at 6:15pm, followed by networking drinks.
